How To: Make Your Own Dotting Tool

Hey Painters,
Today I thought I would make a post about how to make your own dotting tool with everyday things :)

1) Old Earring
If you have an old leftover earring that you know your not going to wear again, why not use it for your nails? All you have to do is take the back off it and tadaah finished. Although this technique is a bit fiddly its great for detailed designs. Try to use earrings that have a large stud as that will be easier to grip.

2) Pencil
For this tool you can use any kind of pencil you like and just dip it in some nail polish. Using a pencil usually makes small dots but you could make bigger ones if you decided to layer them.

3) Hair grip / Bobby Pin
This is probably my favourite dotting tool out of the three. To make this you have get a normal hair grip then bend the two ends apart and dip one of the ends into polish. This works really well.

There are other alternatives you can use such as a toothpick or something like that but for me these three are the best.

Thanks for reading,
